thankful tuesday

{thankful Tuesday}
Linking up with my blogging buddy Katie from Life with the Crew.
Practising gratitude and acknowledging the wonderful things in our lives.

As l get older l'm realising that having a really good friend is one of the best things in life.  And, last week we were lucky to visit one of my oldest friends, who now lives just west of the Blue Mountains (near Sydney) with her family.
We became friends at University, where we shared a flat together for a couple of years.  Now almost 18 years later, we've been there through good and bad times and she knows me as well as anyone does.
There's something about friends, particularly those who have been around for a long time.  They become like family, but it's not a bond of blood that ties us together, it's a choice.  How amazing to have people choose to be your friend, to share your journey through life and to ultimately get to know all your good and bad points, and still choose to be there.

  2. Yeah Chrisy, you're back! So glad you guys were able to visit friends and have some fun! Winter hats, oh my! It always amazes me that it actually gets that cold in Australia. It has such the stereotype of being hot and dry all the time.

  3. Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other's gold. Thanks for sharing your adventure
