One of my goals for 2013 was to create this blog.
I wanted a piece of the internet to call my own, a place where l could share my newspaper articles and memory keeping projects. In nine short months, my blog has already grown to be much more than that.
l now have a place where l can share my voice, where l can discuss things that are important to me in a real, authentic and open way. And l love that.
The fact that l have had visitors, who have read my posts and may have even enjoy them, to be honest .......is still a surprise. Reading your comments gives me such a buzz.
I love knowing that l have family (Hi Aunty Maureen) and friends (Hi Kylye) who visit regularly and enjoy the glimpses of our life. That alone is enough motivation to continue.
Thanks to all my readers for your support and encouragement. It really does mean a lot to me.
After nine months l thought it was time to update my about me page and wanted to share it here with you too.
My name is Chrisy, and this is where l share the pieces of my life. I’m a mother and wife, whose loves include the environment, Australian wildlife, photography and memory keeping. I enjoy the sound of green tree frogs croaking in the downpipes, salt water on my skin and kicking back on Sunday afternoon with a few beers. We live on the sunny North Coast of New South Wales, Australia, and life here is full.
I feel blessed to live in such a beautiful place. The North Coast of NSW is a special place not only because of the stunning landscape, but because of the people who live here. We’re such an eclectic mix of hippies, farmers and sea changers and somehow, we make it work. We’re passionate and stand up for what we believe in. I’ve lived here almost my entire life, and don’t have any intentions on leaving.I’m a wildlife carer, and rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife lifts me up. To help an animal have a second chance at life is an amazing experience and l love getting up close with animals that most people never get to see, let alone touch. I’ve been a member of the Northern Rivers Wildlife Carers since 1999 and l mainly care for echidnas, possums, gliders and birds.
In recent years, it’s become important to me to record my family’s story through both photographs and words. I love capturing the essence of my family from both today and yesterday - there’s much to learn and gain from examining and recording our stories. Now days it feels like l always have a memory keeping project on the go. I have a special interest in recording everyday moments, and l’ll often share them here. Recording those helps me see how wonderful my life is, and makes me grateful in so many ways.Every day l try to soak up all that life has to offer me. Life is short, but beautiful. Whilst here l want to be present and fully experience each and every day. The highs, the lows, the good time and the bad. I’m striving to create and live a good life here on the North Coast. I hope you’ll join me.
